Walk This Way: Walk a Living Path

Every day you and I face a variety of choices regarding the path we take.  Many things influence our decisions for both good and bad, yet God wants us to choose daily to walk according to His ways.  Over the next 17 days I will be sharing from the devotional journal, “Walk This Way”, with the prayer that it helps you to grow in your walk with God as you pursue a greater understanding of the path He calls you to.

Here is day fifteen with an important reminder that walking God’s way will lead you on a path among the living.

Walk a Living Path

“For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the LORD in the land of the living.
Psalm 116:8-9 (NIV)

What makes a life worth living?  Do you feel that your day to day existence is filled with life?  Do you think that the people around you would say that you are full of life?  Why?  Do you think of your life in Christ taking place now or only in the future?  How might walking a living path today show that your soul has been delivered from death, your eyes from tears, and your feet from stumbling?  Why is it important to walk a living path before the Lord where you are at each day?

David writes that God delivered him in order that he would walk before the Lord in the land of the living.  He understood that he wasn’t rescued simply to be with God, he was rescued to walk a path among the living.  As you pray, ask God to help you remember all that you have been delivered from.  Pray that you would live life to the full as you represent Jesus in your daily activities.  Pray that you would daily understand how to live for God in your present circumstances.  Pray that you would be faithful in walking a path among the living.  Pray that the people around you would know hope because of your walk.

In prayer,

Tom
