“In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me.
From the depths of the grave I called for help,
and you listened to my cry.”

This week’s prayer focus is about receiving help when we cry out to God.  When you find yourself in times of distress, it is comforting to know that God listens when we cry out.  Even when our distress is of our own doing, God hears and responds to our calls for help.  As you pray this week, ask God to increase your faith so that you would call out to Him in times of trouble.  Pray that you would grow in your awareness of all God does to provide the help you need.  Pray for wisdom to see how God would use the help you receive from Him to provide help to others.  Pray for the humility needed to admit when you are in over your head and in need of help.

Receiving Help From God

“But I have had God’s help to this very day, and so I stand here and testify to small and great alike.”
Acts 26:22 (NIV)

Pray for a growing awareness of how God is an ever-present help.  Pray that God’s help in your life would lead you to testify about Him to all who would listen.  Pray that you would seek help from God in all circumstances that you face.
