“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

This week we will pray about the new job we have as Christians and what God wants our work to look like.  The good news of Jesus says there is a job for each of us to do and our job is one that not only benefits us, but it is designed to benefit the body of Christ.  We learn to work for the Lord when we carry a new journey, observation, and belief into our work.

“But I will stay on at Ephesus until Pentecost, because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me.”
1 Corinthians 16:8-9 (NIV)

As you pray this week, consider the work you do, as well as the ability that God gives you to do that work.  Pray that you would know the satisfaction of being involved in a work which is effective.  Pray that opposition would  not cause you to give up on effective work.  Pray that the people around you would come to know Jesus because of the effective work you are doing.
